Using Socal Media to Post Your Drawing

Hi guys! I'm Tara and this is my blog about digital arts I do for my homework.

I first used Instagram to widen my horizon about arts and making my art known to people. At first I only got about 5 to 10 likes, and then I started using hashtags and mentioning art account that promotes people's arts.

Then my account started growing a little from 5 likes to 20 likes, and friends from my school liked my drawing too. It made me giddy, I started posting a little often than usual but it only got about 10 likes. From that I understand about algorithms, that is, you have to post regularly so that your posts would be visible to your followers' homepage. Make a weekly or monthly schedule to post your arts. Don't rush it.

Make your art consistent, if you do digital art the do digital art only. If you wanna do both digital and manual, you have to make a schedule of your posts. Like posting the digital one every Monday and the manual every Saturday. That way people will recognize and get familiar with your drawing. Take advantage of the algorithm.

If you wanna make your account more well-known find art mutuals. But, how do you get one of those? You have to be active, commenting and liking on people's art posts and then you slide to their DMs asking nicely if they want to be mutual/moots. If they agreed then you have mutuals now! But one thing you should know, mutuals mean it's a two way relation. If your moots liked, commented and shared your arts you must do the same. Don't just be silent and say thanks for their efforts.

Don't forget to add hashtags, if you're lucky your drawing would be visible on other people's homepage. Likes and comments will come like flood to you. If you keep this up, you would have at least a thousand followers by the year. Or maybe a few months if you're consistent.

I'll give you a warning, if you've become famous and notifications are always ringing from your social media. Don't suddenly be inactive and left. Your followers and mutuals would also left you. I've been inactive for about six months on twitter and I've lost many follower. At first, if I post any arts it would get about 300-400 likes. After six months of being inactive it decreased to only 90-95 likes. And I have to look for new mutuals to hype my arts.

Using social media is tricky. Make sure to watch the algorithm guys!
